About the Opportunity

We are seeking an adaptable, proactive, and commercially astute HR Business Partner for a 3 to 6-month contract based on-site at a major health precinct in Murdoch.

Operating within a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting a large workforce, this role acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and operational managers. You will provide practical, solutions-focused HR partnering, facilitate change management initiatives, and deliver contemporary people practices aligned with modern industrial frameworks.

(Note: Disciplinary matters and formal performance management/PGs are handled by a dedicated, separate Employee Relations team, allowing this position to focus purely on proactive partnering, coaching, change, and case management.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Operational Business Partnering: Partner closely with operational leaders to coach, mentor, and build people management capability across diverse teams.
  • Change Management: Guide and support leaders through organisational changes, workforce planning, and process improvements with clear communication and pragmatic change methodologies.
  • Industrial & Policy Interpretation: Provide accurate advice and practical guidance on industrial agreements, enterprise awards, and operational HR policies.
  • Case Management & Employee Support: Manage complex general HR cases, non-work-related injury support, and informal grievance resolution processes.
  • Workforce Initiatives & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to people projects, employee engagement programs, and workforce reporting metrics to enhance operational delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Local WA HR Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent HR experience within Western Australia, demonstrating familiarity with state/federal industrial relations landscapes.
  • HR Advisory/Partnering Track Record: 3+ years of experience working as a HR Consultant, Senior HR Consultant, or HR Business Partner.
  • Large/Complex Scale: Demonstrated experience operating effectively within large, complex, and fast-paced operational organisations. (Healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential).
  • Change & Stakeholder Management: Proven track record delivering change initiatives, influencing key stakeholders, and building high-trust professional relationships.
  • Adaptability & Ambiguity: Comfortable operating in changing environments, managing competing priorities, and delivering structured outcomes with sound judgement.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

Work Requirements & Compliance

  • Full-time on-site presence at Murdoch from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to onboarding).
  • Up-to-date immunisation records suitable for a hospital precinct environment (including COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, and Pertussis).
